South Bend, IN – Northern Indiana will experience a mix of wintry weather today as colder air moves in, bringing the potential for light snow accumulation before warmer temperatures return early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will taper off this morning, transitioning to snow with up to an inch of accumulation possible in Berrien and LaPorte counties. Areas farther south and east will see little to no snowfall as precipitation diminishes. Highs today will range between 34°F and 50°F, with temperatures dropping overnight.
By Monday, a warming trend will set in, with sunny skies and highs reaching 47°F to 53°F. Tuesday will be even milder, with temperatures climbing to 64°F to 68°F and breezy conditions expected.
Residents should prepare for slick spots on roads this morning but can expect improving travel conditions as precipitation clears. Warmer and drier weather is set to persist into midweek.
