Fort Wayne, Ind. – Scattered thunderstorms could bring brief downpours, wind gusts near 40 mph, and localized flooding to northern Indiana Monday night, with conditions drying out by Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana, isolated to scattered storms are expected to develop between 7 p.m. and midnight, carrying a 20–50% coverage chance. Some storms may produce heavy rainfall, minor flooding, and strong winds exceeding 40 mph, especially in areas from South Bend to Fort Wayne.

Lows Monday night will range from 66° to 71°, with muggy air lingering before drier and more comfortable conditions arrive Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday will reach the low to mid-80s under mostly sunny skies, continuing into Wednesday with reduced humidity and mild overnight lows in the 60s.

Drivers should use caution during Monday evening commutes, especially on I-69 and U.S. 30, where brief ponding and low visibility are possible. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items ahead of any gusty storms.

Humidity and summer heat will return by Thursday and Friday, with highs near 90° expected by week’s end.

Warnings remain in effect through Monday night. Another update is expected early Tuesday.
