Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana will see a shift to hot, sunny weather starting Thursday, with temperatures climbing into the low 90s by the weekend. The National Weather Service reports a strong high-pressure system will bring mostly clear skies and calm winds across Allen County and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will be sunny with a high near 86°F before the heat intensifies Friday and Saturday. Winds will remain light, making for comfortable mornings but hot afternoons. While no severe weather is expected through Saturday, a Moderate Swim Risk remains in place for southeast Lake Michigan beaches through this evening due to breaking waves and strong currents.

Outdoor events, back-to-school shopping, and lake trips will find ideal weather late this week, but those sensitive to heat should plan for hydration and limit prolonged sun exposure during peak afternoon hours. Thunderstorm chances return Sunday afternoon into early next week, offering a brief break from the heat.

More updates will follow as storm chances develop.
