Fort Wayne, IN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Northern Indiana has issued a Dense Fog Advisory through 10 a.m. Tuesday, warning of low visibility across portions of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
According to the NWS, areas of fog will thicken overnight, with visibility dropping to one-quarter to one-half mile in the heaviest patches. Officials caution that conditions may become more widespread toward morning, creating dangerous travel for commuters.
The advisory includes counties across northern Indiana (Steuben, Noble, DeKalb, Whitley, Allen, White, Cass, Miami, Wabash, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Grant, Blackford, and Jay), southwest Michigan (Hillsdale), and northwest Ohio (Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, and Allen).
Cities impacted include Fort Wayne, Auburn, Huntington, Wabash, Marion, Hillsdale, Bryan, Defiance, Van Wert, and Lima.
Motorists are urged to slow down, turn on headlights, and increase following distance during the morning commute. The fog is expected to gradually lift after sunrise, with improving conditions by mid to late morning.
