Fort Wayne, Ind. – Scattered thunderstorms could drench parts of Northern Indiana this afternoon, bringing locally heavy rainfall and wind gusts up to 40 mph. Morning conditions remain relatively quiet, but the risk of strong storms ramps up heading into the evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, scattered showers and storms will become more likely after noon, especially in areas east of I-69. Severe weather is not anticipated, but isolated downpours and gusty winds may impact localized travel and outdoor activities.

Today’s high temperatures will range from 79–84°F with increasing humidity. A 30–40% chance of storms continues into tonight, particularly for counties along and east of I-69. On Thursday, skies clear somewhat with only a 20% storm chance limited to northwest Ohio, while highs climb to the mid-80s.

Humidity intensifies by Friday, with afternoon heat index values soaring into the low 90s. A 20–30% chance of pop-up storms returns, and conditions may remain unsettled into Saturday.

Residents should stay weather-aware and limit outdoor plans during peak heat hours or when storms approach.

More updates will be issued as storm potential evolves through the weekend.
