Fort Wayne, Ind. – Widespread rain and breezy winds are moving through northern Indiana today, with isolated thunderstorms possible by this afternoon and evening. Drivers should expect slick roads and reduced visibility, especially along U.S. 30 and I-69.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, the heaviest rainfall is likely Tuesday, with scattered showers tapering off through Wednesday and a few lingering rain bands Thursday. Highs will range from the mid-50s to mid-60s today, with lows dipping into the 40s overnight.

Cities including South Bend, Elkhart, and Warsaw may see steady rain and occasional thunder by late morning. Winds up to 25 mph will make conditions feel cooler and could impact high-profile vehicles on elevated roadways and bridges.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and use headlights during downpours. If thunder is heard, move indoors to avoid lightning risk. Flooding is not expected at this time, but drainage issues may occur in low-lying urban areas.

Rain chances decrease after Thursday, but clouds and cool air will likely linger. Updates from NWS are expected as conditions evolve.
