Fort Wayne, Indiana – Areas of fog and drizzle are expected to persist into tonight across parts of northern Indiana, northwest Ohio, and south-central Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said the greatest potential for fog and drizzle will be mainly north of U.S. Highway 30, where low clouds and damp conditions could reduce visibility through the overnight hours. Temperatures tonight are expected to range from the low to upper 30s.
Conditions improve somewhat Wednesday as skies become partly cloudy and temperatures rise into the 40s and lower 50s. The National Weather Service said the midweek warming trend will continue into Thursday as a weather system approaches from the west.
Rain is expected to develop Thursday afternoon and continue into Thursday evening across much of the region. High temperatures on Thursday are forecast to reach the 50s to near 60 degrees, marking a noticeable change from early-week conditions.
According to the NWS, fog and drizzle tonight could create slick spots on roads and reduce visibility, especially during late-night and early-morning travel. Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution in areas where fog becomes dense.
The forecast may be especially relevant for commuters and early-morning travelers across northern Indiana and nearby areas of Ohio and Michigan.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from weather.gov/iwx as conditions evolve through the week.
