Northern Indiana – A cold night is in store for Northern Indiana as frost becomes a possibility after a day of decreasing cloud cover. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will dip into the 30s tonight, with areas west of US 31 and north of US 6 experiencing the greatest risk of frost. Sensitive vegetation in these regions may be at risk, so gardeners should take precautions, such as covering plants or bringing them indoors.

For the rest of the area, temperatures will remain in the upper 30s to low 40s, though cloud cover should start to diminish throughout the day, allowing for some sunshine to break through. The frost risk tonight is primarily linked to areas with clear skies, as the lack of cloud cover can cause temperatures to plummet.

Looking ahead, Sunday will bring warmer temperatures with highs in the low 60s and partly cloudy skies. While frost is unlikely, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on morning lows. No further frost advisories are expected, but more updates could follow as conditions change.
