Northern Indiana – Scattered thunderstorms and showers are expected across Northern Indiana this weekend, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. The U.S. National Weather Service has issued warnings for hazardous swimming conditions along Lake Michigan beaches in La Porte County, Indiana, and Berrien County, Michigan. The most dangerous conditions are anticipated from Sunday into Monday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s temperatures will range from 74 to 82 degrees, with a 30-60% chance of thunderstorms. Sunday’s temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging from 73 to 77 degrees, with a similar storm probability. On Monday, a high-risk swim advisory will be in effect due to strong currents and large waves expected along Lake Michigan. Temperatures will range between 72 to 78 degrees, with drier weather returning.

Residents are advised to stay clear of piers and avoid swimming when waves are high. By Tuesday, the region is expected to see clearer skies with temperatures in the mid-70s, setting the stage for a sunnier, calmer midweek period.
