Fort Wayne, Indiana – Drivers in Northern Indiana woke up to patchy fog Tuesday morning, with clear skies giving way to a partly cloudy afternoon and temperatures climbing into the mid-80s. Roads across Allen, St. Joseph, and Elkhart counties may remain slick until the fog lifts by mid-morning.

According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana, clouds and humidity will begin to build after sunset, bringing a slight chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms overnight. Lows will settle in the mid to upper 60s, with communities from South Bend to Warsaw urged to keep an eye on changing conditions after midnight.

Travelers are advised to use low-beam headlights in fog and leave extra space between vehicles during the morning commute. Residents should secure outdoor items this evening and ensure cell phones are charged in case of lightning or spotty power outages overnight. Today’s warmth is typical for early July, but any overnight storms could lead to slick roads for Wednesday’s rush hour.

Additional weather advisories or updates may be issued if showers or thunderstorms develop overnight.
