Northern Indiana – Northern Indiana will endure intense heat through midweek, with temperatures approaching record highs. The National Weather Service forecasts highs in the upper 90s by Tuesday, with heat indices likely exceeding 100 degrees.

The extreme heat starts Monday, intensifying Tuesday when heat indices could surpass 105 degrees. Residents are urged to take precautions, staying indoors during peak heat and drinking plenty of water.

As the week progresses, temperatures will remain high, but the chances of relief increase. By Thursday, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop, providing some cooling as temperatures drop slightly into the low 90s.

Although the storms could bring temporary relief, forecasters warn they may be isolated and brief. Despite this, the risk of heat-related illnesses remains high, and residents should continue to follow heat safety guidelines. Stay updated on local weather alerts for changes as the week unfolds.
