Fort Wayne, IN – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Indiana tonight, with up to 0.15 inches of ice accumulation expected, particularly along and north of Route 30.
According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana, freezing rain will begin this evening and continue through early Thursday. Sleet may mix in at times, creating hazardous travel conditions.
The advisory runs from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday for areas along and north of Route 30, and from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday farther north. Officials warn of icy roads and sidewalks, with significant impacts on the Thursday morning commute.
Drivers and pedestrians are urged to use caution as slick conditions develop overnight.
