Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana residents should prepare for wet conditions early next week, with rain likely to impact Monday morning’s commute. Warmer temperatures will accompany the rain, potentially creating slick roadways as moisture interacts with freezing surfaces overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will remain dry with partly sunny skies and a high near 38°F. However, cloud cover will increase Sunday night, bringing a 40% chance of rain after 1 a.m. Temperatures will hover near 38°F overnight, reducing the risk of freezing rain but still creating wet and potentially hazardous roads for drivers.

Monday’s forecast calls for a high of 48°F with a continued chance of rain throughout the day. Commuters should allow extra travel time and remain cautious on highways, including I-69 and US-30.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high near 48°F, followed by additional rain chances midweek. A 40% chance of rain returns Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the low 50s before cooling slightly into Friday.

Drivers should stay updated on road conditions and use caution in wet areas.
