Tuesday is the day to watch, as a heatwave is expected to hit northern Illinois. The forecast predicts high temperatures between 91 and 96 degrees, with heat indices possibly reaching between 100 and 105 degrees. Along with the heat, thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, bringing a brief but intense period of unsettled weather.
Wednesday will see a return to more moderate temperatures, with highs between 81 and 86 degrees and morning thunderstorms. The cooler weather near the lake will provide some relief from the heat. Thursday is expected to be sunny with highs ranging from 78 to 83 degrees.
The week will end with another round of storms. Friday’s forecast predicts temperatures between 85 and 91 degrees, accompanied by thunderstorms throughout the day.
