According to the St. Charles Police Department, officers responded at approximately 7:15 a.m. to reports of a potential bomb threat at 1405 N. 5th Ave. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad joined St. Charles Police to conduct a comprehensive search of the premises. Authorities stated that after a thorough investigation, no explosive device was found.

Officials said roughly 400 people were immediately evacuated from the Q-Center as a precaution. The area was secured by law enforcement while bomb squad units worked to ensure the safety of everyone on site.
