Greeley, CO – A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of Weld, Elbert, and Lincoln Counties, where temperatures are expected to dip close to freezing early Friday morning. The National Weather Service in Denver says overnight lows between 32 and 35 degrees could lead to widespread frost formation.
According to the NWS, the advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. MDT Friday, impacting areas including Greeley, Limon, Briggsdale, and Fort Lupton. Forecasters warn that sensitive outdoor plants may be damaged or killed if left uncovered.
Residents are advised to bring potted plants indoors and cover tender vegetation Thursday night. Frost is most likely in low-lying and sheltered areas where cold air tends to settle.
The chilly conditions come as a cold front pushes across northeast Colorado, marking one of the first widespread frost events of the season.
