Ukiah, California – Morning temperatures in parts of Northern California are expected to dip into the 30s through Tuesday, creating a chilly start to the week before a sharp warm-up brings above-average highs by Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, communities like Trinity Center and Kneeland could see lows as cold as 32°F Monday morning, with areas such as Willow Creek, Weaverville, and Covelo also dropping into the mid-to-upper 30s. The cold spell will be short-lived, however, with highs climbing into the 70s and even low 80s by midweek across much of the region.
Residents in Ukiah, Willits, and Laytonville will wake up to temperatures in the low 40s through Tuesday, but by Thursday, afternoon highs are forecast to soar into the upper 70s and low 80s. Along the coast, places like Eureka and Crescent City will remain cooler but still see a noticeable rise in temperatures later in the week.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time during early morning commutes as patchy fog and cold roads may pose visibility or traction issues in interior valleys. Those in higher elevations should keep alternate heating options available through Tuesday morning.
Temperatures are expected to continue warming into the weekend, with no additional weather alerts currently in effect.
