Weed, CA – A High Wind Warning is in effect for Central Siskiyou County beginning 10 a.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday, with forecasters warning of potentially damaging winds and dangerous travel conditions across the Shasta Valley.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, south winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph are expected to impact communities including Weed, Montague, and areas along Interstate 5 and Highway 97.

The strong winds could knock down tree limbs, move unsecured objects, and cause power outages throughout the region. Motorists—particularly those driving high-profile vehicles—should prepare for challenging crosswinds and sudden gusts on open stretches of road.

Officials urge residents to secure outdoor items and stay alert for rapidly changing conditions throughout Wednesday and overnight into Thursday morning.

This system marks one of the strongest wind events of November so far, signaling a volatile weather pattern that may persist into the weekend across far northern California.
