Eureka, CA – A cold weather advisory is in effect for northern California tonight, with subfreezing temperatures expected across coastal and interior valleys.
The National Weather Service warns that temperatures may fall as low as 25°F, especially in southern Mendocino and Lake counties. Frostbite and hypothermia risks are heightened for those without proper protection. Sensitive plants and animals may also be at risk during this period.
The advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday. Residents should take precautions, including covering plants, protecting pets, and avoiding prolonged exposure to the cold.
Dry air and clear skies will keep temperatures low, but conditions are expected to improve later in the week.
