Eureka, Calif. – Light showers are moving through the North Coast tonight, but Humboldt County can expect a quick shift to drier, sunnier conditions by the start of the week. A brief round of patchy fog and drizzle could slow travel near U.S. 101 through early Sunday before skies begin to clear.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, rain chances stand at 30% overnight and taper to just 20% by Sunday morning. Drivers should use caution with limited visibility possible between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. By late Sunday afternoon, skies turn partly cloudy with highs near 68.

Conditions improve further Monday, when mostly sunny skies return and northwest winds pick up to 5–10 mph. The stretch of dry weather continues through midweek, with highs in the upper 60s and overnight lows in the low to mid-50s.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy outdoor activities starting Monday, as extended dry days look likely across Humboldt Bay, Arcata, and McKinleyville. No significant storms are in the forecast for the week ahead.

The next update from the National Weather Service will refine rainfall totals and confirm the length of the dry pattern into next weekend.
