SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Warm, dry air will dominate Northern California early this week, sending Sacramento temperatures into the upper 80s by Tuesday before a noticeable cool-down arrives late Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, calm winds and clear skies will keep conditions stable through midweek. Monday’s high is expected to reach 84°F, climbing to near 87°F Tuesday afternoon before retreating to the low 80s Wednesday. Overnight lows will hover in the mid-50s, keeping mornings mild.

Drivers and outdoor workers should plan for unseasonably warm afternoons, especially in the Central Valley where sun exposure remains strong. Fire danger will stay moderate, though forecasters note vegetation remains dry after weeks without measurable rainfall.

By Thursday, highs are forecast to fall into the mid-70s with increasing cloud cover. A weak system could bring a few light showers Friday into Saturday, signaling a transition toward cooler, fall-like weather.

Warm conditions will linger through midweek, but residents should prepare for the first hint of autumn by the weekend.
