Northern Humboldt, CA – A frost advisory has been issued for several areas in Northern California, warning of temperatures dipping as low as 36°F and creating conditions for frost formation early Sunday morning. From 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. PDT, parts of Humboldt, Mendocino, Trinity, and Lake counties will be at risk.

According to the National Weather Service, areas including Weaverville, Carrville, and Covelo are expected to experience freezing temperatures that could damage sensitive outdoor vegetation. Homeowners and farmers in affected areas should prepare to protect their plants and gardens, as frost could kill uncovered tender plants.

The advisory impacts Northern Humboldt, Northern Mendocino, Northern Lake, and parts of Trinity County, covering locations such as Dinsmore, Peanut, Forest Glen, and Hayfork.

Residents are urged to take action now to prevent damage to plants by bringing them inside or covering them with blankets or tarps overnight. Farmers, in particular, should be vigilant to minimize losses to crops and other sensitive vegetation.

The frost is expected to clear by mid-morning Sunday, but additional advisories may be issued as conditions change. Stay informed for updates as the situation evolves.
