Eureka, CA – A Frost Advisory has been issued for Trinity County overnight as temperatures are forecast to dip into the low 30s by early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Eureka.

The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. PDT Tuesday and includes the communities of Weaverville, Hayfork, Trinity Center, Douglas City, and Carrville.

Forecasters warn that temperatures as low as 33°F will likely lead to frost formation, which could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation and kill unprotected plants. Residents are encouraged to bring potted plants indoors, cover gardens, and protect outdoor plumbing ahead of the coldest hours before sunrise.

The NWS advises that this frost event marks one of the first significant cool-downs of the fall season in the region, following recent mild weather.

Temperatures are expected to rebound by late morning Tuesday, with afternoon highs returning to the 60s under mostly sunny skies.
