SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Calm, sunny days will stretch across Northern California this week as Sacramento enjoys a stretch of mild fall weather with highs in the mid-70s through Sunday. Skies will stay mostly clear, offering a welcome break before clouds and a slight chance of showers return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, Wednesday will stay sunny with light southwest winds around 5 to 9 mph. Temperatures are expected to reach about 77°F before dipping to the upper 50s overnight. The pattern continues Thursday and Friday with highs near 72–73°F, and only a 20% chance of light showers late Friday night.

Weekend plans look ideal for outdoor activities across the region—from Elk Grove to Roseville—as sunshine dominates both Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will cool to the low 50s, typical for early October.

Residents should prepare for a shift by Monday, when a series of weak systems may bring scattered showers and slightly cooler air. More updates are expected as the next weather system approaches the Central Valley early next week.
