Eureka, CA – The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for portions of the Humboldt Bay area, warning that minor coastal flooding is possible late Saturday morning due to unusually high tides.

Forecasters expect tide levels between 8.9 and 9.2 feet MLLW (Mean Lower Low Water) around 11:44 a.m. Saturday, driven by the combination of a high astronomical tide, surge, and a minor tidal anomaly of about 0.5 feet.

The advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, with the greatest impacts expected around high tide. Low-lying areas such as King Salmon, Jackson Ranch Road, and the Arcata Bottoms could experience shallow flooding on roads and fields during this period.

Officials urge residents to use caution near the water and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Even minor coastal flooding can cause localized disruptions, especially during peak tide cycles.

This marks another round of higher-than-normal tides affecting the Humboldt Bay region this week. More tidal information is available at tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov.
