California, United States – A rare and unseasonably wet low-pressure system is set to bring significant rainfall to Northern California’s redwood coast this weekend, impacting areas from Del Norte County down to northern Humboldt County. The storm is expected to arrive late Friday night around 11 p.m. and continue through Saturday afternoon, with the strongest rainfall anticipated mid-morning on Saturday.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Eureka, CA, light rain is forecast across Del Norte, Trinity, and Humboldt counties, with higher rainfall totals expected further north. Rainfall amounts are predicted to reach up to 0.25 inches in Crescent City and surrounding areas, with lower totals expected further south.

Impacts from this storm may include slick road conditions due to oil buildup on dry roads, making driving hazardous during and after the rain. Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling, particularly in areas where the rain will be most intense.

Looking ahead, the storm will taper off by Saturday evening, with dry conditions returning by Sunday. Temperatures are expected to remain cool, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the low-50s throughout the weekend. Early next week, a gradual warming trend will bring slightly higher temperatures, with sunshine returning by Wednesday.
