Arizona – Crisp mountain air lingers across Flagstaff this morning, but sunshine will quickly warm roads and neighborhoods into the mid-70s by afternoon. The sharp contrast between cold mornings and warm afternoons is already creating wide temperature swings across northern Arizona.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, highs reach near 75 degrees today with southwest winds increasing to 10 to 16 mph. Gusts could reach 25 mph, especially along exposed stretches of I-40 and higher terrain.

Flagstaff, Bellemont, and Doney Park will warm further Tuesday, climbing to around 79 degrees under full sun. Mornings, however, stay cold, with lows dipping into the upper 30s. That puts some areas close to freezing, especially in low-lying valleys.

By Wednesday, highs peak near 80 degrees, marking the warmest day of the stretch. Clear skies at night will allow temperatures to drop quickly again, falling back to around 37 degrees. These rapid swings can stress vehicles and create patchy frost on colder surfaces.

Drivers should stay alert during early morning hours. Bridges and shaded roads may briefly turn slick if residual moisture freezes. Plan extra time if traveling before sunrise.

Thursday brings a slight cooldown with highs near 77 degrees, while conditions remain dry and sunny. No precipitation is expected through midweek, keeping travel conditions favorable overall.

This pattern highlights classic early spring variability across northern Arizona. How big is the temperature swing where you are today?
