Flagstaff, Arizona – Northern Arizona could see up to 0.70 inches of rainfall as widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms move in late Sunday and persist through Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, subtropical moisture surging north will interact with a low-pressure system, creating a high chance of precipitation across much of the region. Rain chances climb above 80% Sunday night in cities like Flagstaff, Payson, and Prescott, with lighter showers continuing into Tuesday and tapering off by midweek.

Drivers along I-17 and I-40 should expect slick roads and reduced visibility overnight Sunday into the Monday morning commute. Areas like Sedona, Show Low, and Kingman are also in the storm’s path, with some localized ponding possible in low-lying areas.

Residents are urged to avoid driving through flooded roadways and secure outdoor belongings ahead of the storm. While no widespread flooding is expected, rain totals could reach 0.70 inches in some spots, particularly across higher terrain.

Additional showers may linger into Tuesday, with a return to drier conditions expected by Wednesday. The Weather Service may issue further advisories if rainfall intensity increases.
