Columbus, OH – Northeastern and North Central Ohio is set to receive up to four inches of snow by early Friday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region, in effect until 4 a.m. Friday. Snowfall began Thursday afternoon, and additional accumulations are expected overnight. According to the advisory, slippery roads and reduced visibility will impact drivers during the Thursday evening and early Friday morning commutes.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has urged residents to delay unnecessary travel and monitor road conditions via www.ohgo.com. Temperatures will remain below freezing overnight, increasing the risk of icy patches, particularly on untreated roadways.

Drivers in Columbus and surrounding areas are advised to reduce speeds and allow extra time for travel. Plow crews are actively working to clear major routes, but secondary roads may remain snow-covered.

Snowfall is expected to taper off after 4 a.m., but lingering impacts could disrupt the Friday morning commute. Residents should plan accordingly and remain cautious.
