Green Bay, WI – A significant round of snow is expected to impact much of central and northeast Wisconsin beginning late this afternoon and lasting into early Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories for most of the region.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals of 4 to 7 inches are expected across central Wisconsin, with 2 to 5 inches possible elsewhere. The heaviest accumulation is forecast for areas around Wausau, Antigo, and Appleton, where snowfall rates could reach 1 to 2 inches per hour this evening.
Peak impacts are expected between 7 PM Tuesday and 3 AM Wednesday, when visibility may drop below a mile at times. Slippery, snow-covered roads will make travel hazardous across major routes including Highway 29, I-41, and Highway 10.
Motorists are urged to monitor forecasts, adjust evening travel plans, and use caution on the roads. Conditions are expected to improve by mid-morning Wednesday as snow tapers off and road crews work to clear main highways.
