GREEN BAY, Wis. – After a cool, crisp start to the week, northeast Wisconsin will swing from showers to sunshine — and even a brief taste of summer warmth — by the weekend. A few rounds of rain will move through midweek before a dramatic warm-up pushes temperatures near 80°F by Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, rain is likely late tonight into early Wednesday morning, with a 70% chance of showers as low pressure slides through the region. Light rainfall amounts are expected, but drivers on I-41 and Highway 29 may face slick roads during the early commute. Skies clear by Wednesday afternoon, allowing temperatures to rebound into the upper 60s.
Thursday brings another chance of scattered rain, but the bigger story is the surge of mild air arriving by Friday and Saturday. South winds will strengthen to 15 mph, pulling in warmth and humidity from the Plains. Highs could top out near 80°F — nearly 20 degrees above average for mid-October — before a front brings another round of showers Saturday night.
Outdoor plans remain favorable through much of Friday, but those heading to high school football games or weekend events should keep an umbrella handy. Cooler, breezy conditions return Sunday, restoring a more typical fall feel.
