New York, NY – Snow bands are lining up offshore, and the Northeast is bracing for impact. Winds are beginning to howl along the coast, and the first flakes will thicken quickly by Sunday. This Winter Weather Alert signals a high-impact Nor’easter poised to hammer millions from the Mid-Atlantic to New England.

A rapidly intensifying coastal low may undergo bombogenesis late Sunday into Monday. Snowfall rates could exceed one to two inches per hour at peak intensity. Widespread totals of 12 to 24 inches are likely across major metro corridors. Some coastal zones from New Jersey through eastern Massachusetts could approach 30 to 36 inches if the heaviest band stalls.

Blizzard conditions are expected from Delaware through southeastern New England. Wind gusts between 40 and 70 mph may produce whiteout conditions near I-95, I-87, I-84, and I-90. Travel could become impossible at times Sunday night into early Monday.

Heavy, wet snow combined with powerful wind gusts raises the risk of scattered to numerous power outages. Coastal flooding is also a concern from Delaware to Cape Cod, especially during high tide cycles. Roads near the shoreline may be inundated.

Residents should finalize preparations now. Charge devices, fuel vehicles, and avoid unnecessary travel Sunday night. Conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly after sunset.

By Tuesday, the storm pulls away, but cleanup will continue. Lingering snow showers may persist in parts of New England. Midweek brings improving conditions, and temperatures begin moderating late week.

The 6-10 day outlook favors a gradual warming trend, offering a break from Winter Vengeance. Still, the next 48 hours will define this late February Nor’easter.
