Baltimore, MD – The Northeast is set to experience some of the heaviest rainfall of the month this weekend, with snow expected only in the higher elevations. Maryland and nearby states will face significant rain, while snow will mainly affect mountainous regions in New York and Maine.

According to the National Weather Service, areas like Baltimore and Washington, D.C., can expect up to 1.5 inches of rain through Saturday, which could lead to localized flooding and travel disruptions. The storm system is expected to bring rain through Sunday, with the heaviest precipitation occurring Friday night into Saturday morning.

In contrast, parts of upstate New York and Maine will see snow accumulation, particularly in areas above 2,000 feet. Locations like the Adirondacks could experience up to 6 inches of snow.

Residents of Maryland and surrounding areas are urged to stay cautious on the roads, as heavy rain could make travel hazardous, particularly during rush hours. Drivers should also watch for potential flooding in low-lying areas and be prepared for gusty winds that could further complicate travel conditions.
