Logan, UT – Northeastern Utah may see a cold and potentially snowy Thanksgiving travel period, as long-range federal outlooks show above-normal precipitation from November 23 through November 29.

The area—including Logan, Vernal, and the Uinta Mountains—sits in a 40–50% zone favoring wetter-than-normal conditions, paired with a strong early-season cold pool across the Rockies. This combination often supports accumulating snow, especially at higher elevations.

Mountain passes across the Wasatch and Uinta regions may experience snow showers or slushy conditions, creating travel hazards on US-89, US-191, and SR-30.

More specific timing will emerge next week.
