Shreveport, La. – Cooler air may slide into the ArkLaTex region late next week, potentially breaking the summer heat as August comes to a close. Areas north of I-20, including parts of Northeast Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and Southeast Oklahoma, have the greatest odds of seeing below-normal temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, probabilities range from 35 to 60 percent for below-average readings between Wednesday and Sunday, August 27–31. The strongest chance of cooler weather is forecast for northern sections of the Four-State Region, though some relief could reach into North Louisiana as well.
Communities along and north of I-30 could feel the most noticeable dip, with morning lows dropping several degrees below recent patterns. Shreveport and surrounding parishes may see only a modest cooldown, but forecasters note that a broader push of cooler air remains possible if the pattern holds.
Residents are advised to stay updated, as extended forecasts often shift. More detailed temperature outlooks and any new advisories will be issued early next week.
