Aberdeen, SD – Residents in northeast South Dakota are experiencing strong winds Sunday as a Wind Advisory remains in effect through 3 p.m. CDT, according to the National Weather Service in Aberdeen.

The advisory covers Marshall and Roberts counties, including the cities of Britton and Sisseton, where west winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

Forecasters warn that the gusty conditions could blow around unsecured outdoor items and cause isolated power outages. Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, should use extra caution on open roads and highways.

The windy conditions are expected to ease later this afternoon as the weather system moves east, bringing calmer conditions into the evening hours.
