Tulsa, OK – A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. Sunday across parts of northeast Oklahoma, including areas north and west of Interstate 44, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa.
Forecasters report visibilities under one-quarter mile in several locations, creating hazardous driving conditions, particularly in valleys and rural areas. The advisory includes Tulsa, Bartlesville, and Ponca City, where fog has thickened overnight.
The NWS warns that rapid changes in visibility may occur over short distances, and motorists should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra distance between vehicles. Fog is expected to gradually lift by mid-morning as temperatures rise and clouds clear.
Meteorologists will continue monitoring cloud trends for possible advisory expansion if fog spreads into nearby counties. After the fog clears, conditions are expected to remain calm and mild through the afternoon.
