Oklahoma’s air feels crisp and still early, but bright sunshine is already pushing Tulsa toward a fast warmup, setting the tone for a calm stretch before storms return later this week.

According to the National Weather Service, clear skies and calm winds are holding temperatures near 44°F early, with highs reaching about 72°F today. Conditions stay quiet tonight with lows near 45°F before a gradual warming trend continues into midweek.

Across Tulsa County and along US-75 and I-44, drivers can expect smooth travel under dry skies through today and Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon, highs climb into the low 70s with light winds, though gusts may reach up to 20 mph at times, especially in open areas.

By Wednesday, the air turns noticeably warmer and breezier. Highs hold in the low 70s, but south winds increase, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph. That added warmth and wind begin to pull moisture back into the region.

Meteorologists are now tracking a shift by Thursday. A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops during the afternoon, increasing into Thursday night. By Friday, storm chances rise to around 40%, which could bring brief downpours, lightning, and slick roads during peak travel times.

Plan ahead late this week. Keep devices charged and allow extra time on the road if storms develop.
