Tulsa, OK – Northeast Oklahoma is facing dangerously cold conditions this morning, with wind chills between zero and -5°F until 10 a.m. The National Weather Service issued a Cold Weather Advisory for areas including Tulsa, Claremore, and Bartlesville, warning residents to limit outdoor exposure. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes if precautions are not taken.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory highlights areas in northeast, east-central, and southeast Oklahoma, with temperatures expected to remain frigid through the day. Wind chills will climb slightly by afternoon but remain uncomfortable. Those traveling on major highways, such as I-44 and U.S. Route 75, should use caution and dress in layers if heading outside.
Looking ahead, Tulsa will see a gradual warming trend. Wednesday will bring increasing clouds, with highs near 43°F and gusty south winds reaching up to 25 mph. By Thursday, mostly sunny skies will dominate with a high of 42°F, though overnight lows could dip into the low 20s. Friday will feature the warmest day of the week with a high of 47°F, followed by a clear, chilly night.
Despite improving conditions later this week, early mornings will remain cold. Residents should continue to bundle up, cover exposed skin, and monitor forecasts for potential changes.
