CLEVELAND, Ohio – Northeast Ohio will stay warm and dry through Saturday with afternoon highs climbing into the mid-80s, but conditions on Lake Erie could pose dangers for swimmers.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a moderate risk of rip currents is expected Saturday along the lakeshore, prompting officials to discourage swimming. The sunny stretch will also bring patchy fog overnight, especially in rural low-lying areas.
By Sunday, the region shifts to a wetter pattern. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to move in during the afternoon and persist through much of next week. While rain chances climb, temperatures are forecast to remain above seasonal averages, holding steady in the upper 70s and low 80s.
Travelers and boaters should monitor changing conditions, as storm activity could impact visibility and water safety on Lake Erie. Residents are advised to take caution with outdoor plans Sunday and early next week, especially in areas prone to localized flooding.
More advisories may be issued as showers strengthen into Monday and Tuesday.
