Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service in Cleveland reports that lake effect snow showers will return to the snowbelt region tonight, affecting northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania.

While most areas will see light accumulations, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for inland Erie County, Pennsylvania, where 3 to 5 inches of snow are possible overnight.

Snowfall rates could reach 1 inch per hour in heavier bands, and roads may become snow-covered and slick by late evening. The most persistent lake effect will occur east of Cleveland and across northwest Pennsylvania, diminishing early Monday morning.

Motorists should use caution and allow extra travel time if driving overnight or during the Monday morning commute.
