CLEVELAND, Ohio – Scattered lake effect showers are keeping skies unsettled across northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania this Sunday, but a shift is coming that will bring back warmer, drier weather early in the week. Temperatures across the region are topping out in the upper 60s to near 70, with cooler conditions inland and slightly milder air near Lake Erie.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, high pressure will build into the Great Lakes Monday and Tuesday, shutting down lake effect rain and pushing skies toward partly to mostly sunny. Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the low 70s Monday, then mid to upper 70s by Tuesday, putting conditions closer to seasonal averages.
Communities east of Cleveland and along I-90 in Lake and Ashtabula counties may see lingering light showers through late Sunday, while roads could be damp for evening travel. Farther south and west, skies will stay partly cloudy with no major impacts.
By midweek, residents should expect calm conditions with comfortable overnight lows in the 40s and 50s, though inland valleys could dip cooler than lakeshore cities.
More unsettled weather may return after Tuesday, but for now, forecasters stress this two-day stretch of dry skies offers a break from weekend showers.
