Cleveland, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 1 p.m. Tuesday for northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania, where lake-effect snow continues to impact travel across the region, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
Forecasters say additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected, with localized bands potentially producing snowfall rates of up to one inch per hour near Lake Erie. The heaviest snow will fall over Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, and northern Erie Counties.
Hazardous travel is likely through Monday night as north winds gust up to 30 mph, causing reduced visibility and blowing snow. The National Weather Service cautions that the weight of wet snow on trees and power lines may also lead to isolated power outages, especially where leaves remain.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution on untreated roads, particularly during the morning commute. Conditions are expected to improve Tuesday afternoon as the snow gradually tapers off.
By midweek, temperatures will moderate with highs in the upper 40s and a mix of rain and snow showers possible into Wednesday night.
