Cleveland, Ohio – Showers and scattered thunderstorms could disrupt travel and outdoor plans across Northeast Ohio Friday, with the highest rain chances south and east of Cleveland as a cold front drifts across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, storm coverage will be most widespread in areas like Akron, Canton, and Youngstown, where rain probabilities top 60%. Meanwhile, northwest cities such as Toledo and Sandusky face only isolated activity, with chances below 35%. Most storms are not expected to turn severe, though gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall could accompany the stronger cells.

Highs today will range from the low 70s along Lake Erie to upper 70s in interior cities. Cleveland could hit 75°F, while Akron may reach 78°F before evening showers bring cooling. Commuters should prepare for slick roads, especially in southeastern counties, and consider delaying non-essential travel during peak storm hours.

This system wraps up a stretch of unsettled weather, with dry and more stable conditions expected to return Saturday and Sunday across much of the state.
