Youngstown, OH – Residents across northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania are being urged to protect outdoor plants tonight as a Frost Advisory remains in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. EDT Thursday. The National Weather Service in Cleveland reports that temperatures could fall to around 32 degrees, leading to frost formation across the region.
According to the NWS, the advisory includes Ashtabula Inland, Portage, Trumbull, Stark, and Mahoning Counties in Ohio, along with Crawford and Southern Erie Counties in Pennsylvania.
Forecasters warn that sensitive vegetation may be damaged or killed if left uncovered. Gardeners are advised to bring plants indoors or cover them with protective material before midnight.
Clear skies and light winds are expected to contribute to rapid cooling overnight, making frost likely in low-lying and sheltered areas. Temperatures are expected to rebound by mid-morning Thursday.
