Cleveland, OH – Residents across Northeast Ohio are being urged to prepare for chilly conditions tonight as the National Weather Service (NWS) Cleveland has issued a Frost Advisory. The alert remains in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT Friday, with temperatures expected to fall into the mid- to upper-30s, and some inland areas dipping to around 32 degrees.

According to the NWS, frost formation could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation and potentially kill uncovered plants. Areas directly along the Lake Erie shoreline may remain slightly warmer, reducing frost risk near the immediate lakeshore.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions, including bringing potted plants indoors, covering outdoor vegetation, and protecting pets from the cold. The advisory covers a wide stretch of Northeast Ohio, including Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, and Summit Counties, as shown on the NWS alert map.

Forecasters note that this marks one of the first frost advisories of the season, signaling a transition toward cooler fall weather across the Great Lakes region.
