Cleveland, OH – A Freeze Warning has been issued for parts of northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania as temperatures are expected to plunge into the upper 20s and low 30s overnight.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, the warning is in effect from Midnight to 8 AM Sunday for areas near and south of U.S. Route 30, including Mansfield, Canton, and Marion. Inland regions away from Lake Erie will be the coldest, while lakeshore areas may stay a few degrees warmer.

Forecast lows range from 30°F to 33°F across much of interior northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania, with isolated pockets dipping into the upper 20s in sheltered valleys.

Residents are urged to bring in or cover sensitive vegetation tonight to prevent frost damage. This marks one of the first widespread freezes of the season and could effectively end the growing season for many inland communities.

Sunday will bring gradual warming under mostly sunny skies, but another cool night is expected before temperatures moderate early next week.
