Cleveland, OH – After a stretch of sunny conditions, Northeast Ohio residents should prepare for a sharp change in weather Tuesday as a cold front sweeps through the region.
According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, skies will remain mostly sunny Monday with highs between 81–85°F, but widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected to develop by Tuesday. Rainfall totals could reach 0.5 to 0.8 inches, with locally higher amounts possible in some areas.
By Tuesday afternoon, temperatures will begin to fall, dropping into the upper 60s to low 70s during the day and down to the 40s overnight. The weather service notes that showers will be likely through Tuesday night before much cooler and drier conditions return midweek.
Wednesday will mark a clear shift to fall-like weather, with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s and nighttime lows in the mid-30s to low 40s.
Drivers should use caution during the Tuesday morning and evening commutes as periods of heavier rain could reduce visibility and create slick roadways.
