Cleveland, OH – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania as snow continues to blanket the region. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during their Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland, snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected in northeast Ohio through 4 a.m. Friday. Snowbelt areas, including Lorain, Cuyahoga, and Geauga counties, are likely to see the heaviest impact. Meanwhile, Erie and Crawford counties in Pennsylvania could receive up to 4 inches of snow by 7 a.m. Friday.
Roads are expected to become slippery, with reduced visibility creating hazardous travel conditions. The Ohio Department of Transportation advises drivers to slow down and postpone unnecessary trips. Traffic updates are available on the OHGO website, which provides real-time information on road closures and delays.
Pennsylvania officials have also warned drivers to avoid unnecessary travel. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation suggests monitoring the 511PA website for up-to-date traffic conditions.
Temperatures will remain in the mid-20s overnight, contributing to icy patches on untreated roads. Snow showers are expected to taper off gradually on Friday morning, but delays and disruptions may persist.
Residents should monitor weather forecasts and stay prepared for winter conditions. Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle and allow extra time for travel.
