According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, snowfall will begin Wednesday afternoon, continuing into the evening, with freezing drizzle possible in some areas. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, particularly along Highway 61 and other major routes. Temperatures will reach a high near 28 degrees before dropping to 21 degrees overnight. Gusty winds may create additional challenges for travelers.
Thursday will bring mostly cloudy skies and highs around 30 degrees, but colder conditions are expected to arrive by the weekend. Saturday’s high will only reach 8 degrees, with wind chills dropping below zero. By Sunday night, dangerous wind chills as low as -30 degrees are forecast, prompting the possibility of weather advisories.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for the sharp drop in temperatures by ensuring homes and vehicles are winter-ready. If traveling, pack emergency supplies and monitor road conditions closely.
